THIS
is the last straw.
Kos has a responsibility to moderate discussion and ensure that strong accusations are subject to strong scrutiny.
He has failed in that one too many times for me.
"Democrat for a day" is national.

Obama's precinct captain appears to have been caught in a lie, and Obama's campaign appears to be in a bit of doo-doo.
From MYDD
comes the following:
Obama takes planted question? Edwards mute!
Mon Dec 17, 2007 at 09:22:12 AM PDT
I think we are ALL agreed that the practice of taking planted questions on the campaign trail is one which should be discouraged.
Some of you agree that it is a uniquely Bush-league tactic. For the purposes of this post, I'll defer to that latter group.
Given all the negative attention that Hillary got for taking planted questions, one would think that the other campaigns would have made certain to weed out the practice.
Action alert for Hillary in primary states.

As you know I'm a big fan of Eriposte's work on The Left Coaster.
Long before this campaign started, I was reading his exhaustive analyses of the aluminum tubes story, the Niger forgeries, the SBVT in 2004.
He is a fantastic and meticulous researcher.
Much to the chagrin of non-Hillary supporters, he has just recently endorsed Hillary Clinton, in a VERY long post
GoHillary
This post was too long for the blog, actually, and the full article may be seen at http://www.theleftcoaster.com/...
In this diary, I will give some excerpts from Eriposte's endorsement, as well as suggest other articles to look at.
The "Action" in the alert is to send copies of these articles to media outlets in primary states.
The Left Coaster is not a top tier site, and while many bloggers refer to him these days, I wish he would get wider exposure.
OBAMA THE MAGNIFICENT!!!!
Sun Dec 09, 2007 at 01:52:45 PM PDT
.... triangulator.
Welcome to the real world. In the real world, politicians equivocate, doubletalk, make alliances with unsavory characters, make (or miss) votes based on political calculation rather than conviction. In the real world, some politicians find it necessary to distort the truth about their opponents in order to gain political traction.
Barack Obama lives in the real world. So does Hillary Clinton. So does John Edwards.
The focus of my diary is Obama, because I read that "big name bloggers" all had it in for Obama----so why not let a small name blogger take a shot too!
In reality, there's nothing new to say about Edwards, and lots going on with Obama, so this is a good time to take a fresh look at a candidate who wears no rose-colored glasses.
Who got my first contribution, and why.
Sat Dec 08, 2007 at 10:06:01 AM PDT
I just made my first donation to a Presidential candidate today.
In this diary I'll explain who got my money and why.
First off---it wasn't Hillary. Why not? She doesn't need my money!
If she loses in the primaries, it certainly won't be because I didn't donate.
Second, I do prefer Hillary, as you may have deduced from a careful exegesis of my body of commentary.
Third, this contribution was to punish bad behavior and reward good behavior at the same time.
So, who was it?
Hillary's foreign policy experience touted by ambassadors.
Fri Dec 07, 2007 at 08:29:35 AM PDT
Hillary scored a major coup today as the recipient of a letter which touts the foreign policy experience she gained as First Lady.
This is a worthy answer to Obama's claim that he gained significant foreign policy expertise in grade school.
This was just posted at TPM:

Introducing DK to Eriposte's series on the 2008 race.
Mon Nov 26, 2007 at 10:07:28 AM PDT
Hello, all.
I want to tell you about someone who is writing a very insightful series of articles on the 2008 primary race over at http://theleftcoaster.com
Agree with him or not, I think he sets a high standard for fact-based commentary.
I don't know his name, but he goes by Eriposte at TLC. For those of you not familiar with his work, he is one of a handful of people---including Marcy Wheeler, Laura Rozen and Josh Marshall---who have untangled the story of the Niger forgeries as far as humanly possible.
You can find a synopsis of this work at

Bush pisses on Constitution; Boring Dem revolts.
Thu Jul 19, 2007 at 09:33:08 PM PDT
As I expected would occur, events have outpaced the arguments over impeachment. With the latest development, in
http://www.washingtonpost.com/...
Bush has left Congress with no choice but to rely on those Constitutional powers it possesses which are independent of the judiciary. That leaves very few options---the only ones I know that have teeth are inherent contempt and impeachment. Impeachment or complete constitutional capitulation are the choices now. To arms! and to the phones!
An atheist's Apologia
Mon Apr 09, 2007 at 01:27:40 PM PDT
Recently I have made several sharp comments towards believers and towards religious belief in general. This led me to thinking about my spiritual path towards the truth of atheism, and how this informs my responses to Christian ist comments here. Are you a little annoyed? Well, I threw in the language about the spiritual path just to alert you that this may be a prickly diary for some of you. Did you ever think how it might annoy an atheist, or a Buddhist for that matter, to hear a Christian describe his "spiiritual path" to the one truth. As an aside, let me mention a famous spiritual voyager of the 1980's---M. Scott Peck. His book, "A Road Less Travelled", was on the NYT paperback bestseller list for over 600 weeks, as I recall. Hailed as authentic visionary then, he later descended into madness, becoming an extremely conservative Catholic, and claiming that literal demonic possesion was behind the evil acts of countless people.
